Karela United head coach Nurudeen Amadu says his side did enough to avoid defeat despite their 1-0 loss to Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League on Thursday. In the close contest between the two teams, Karela United conceded an early goal from Isaac Agyemang at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and failed to respond, despite creating several goal-scoring opportunities.Speaking in a post-match interview, Nurudeen Amadu expressed his disappointment with his side’s failure to convert their chances but praised the players for their overall performance. The Karela United coach believes his team deserved at least a point from the encounter after improving in the second half.We played well, but we conceded an early goal. Even with that, we came back stronger. It is just that we wasted so many chances. But we played well. In the second half we were strong. Our worst result should have been a draw, but this is football. Sometimes you dont get what you want. I will still commend my boys and encourage them to keep working hard. The defeat leaves Karela United in ninth position in the Ghana Premier League standings, with Kotoko climbing to third place.
